Spitfire’s training program offers Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot and Instructor Pilot Certification. We take pride in excellent quality, personalized attention, and efficient training. Spitfire Aviation is open seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. to accomodate your schedule. In addition to flight instruction, we offer Photo, and discovery flights.

As Spitfire’s President and Chief Pilot, I add a personal touch to the school by personally instructing a wide variety of students. In addition to 13,000+ hours of teaching experience, I have an excellent training record with the FAA and Spitfire is highly recommended by FAA Examiner, William Talley, who has certified all of our private pilot applicants. Our FAA approved staff of flight instructors is highly efficient, friendly and ready to give you your wings. Spitfire specializes in creating a training curriculum based on FAA standards and individual student needs. Our flight training program maximizes your financial investment and is personally tailored to you, the student, to give you optimum benefit with every lesson.

Today we have six aircraft and seven flight instructors. We have three C-172's, a Piper Arrow, an SR-20, and a C-182. We have grown tremendously due to our quality of service, aircraft, and staff. Spitfire is conveniently located at the Santa Barbara Airport on the east side of the field near the main terminal. All of our aircraft are inspected every 100 hours of flight time by our on staff FAA approved mechanic. All of Spitfire’s aircraft are equipped for VFR and IFR flight. We own all the training aircraft, and this sets us apart from the competition by providing the highest level of safety.

We would love to offer you a discovery flight at Spitfire Aviation for only $79 . The discovery experience includes a thirty-minute flight in which you are at the controls of a C-172 followed by a question and answer session with an FAA Certified Flight Instructor who will personally review the course with you. He/she will discuss the fees, training syllabus, books, and time requirements. Your FAA Flight Instructor will answer any questions you have about learning how to fly and help you create a course of action to obtain your desired flight certificate.
