In 1998 Andrea Read became the first woman in Santa Barbara to own and operate a flight school. Today Spitfire's training program offers Private Pilot, COmmercial Pilot and Instructor Pilot Certification. We take pride in excellent quality, personalized attention, and efficient training. Spitfire Aviation is open seven days a week from 7:00am to 9:00 pm to accommodate your schedule. In addition to flight instruction, we offer Photo, and discovery flights.

In addition to 13,000 + hours of teaching experience, I have an excellent training record with the FAA and Spitfire is highly recommended by the FAA examiner, William Talley, who has certified all of our private pilot applicants. Our FAA approved staff of flight instructors is highly efficient, friendly and ready to give you your wings. We would love to offer you a Discovery Flight for only $99.00. This discovery experience includes a 30 minute flight in which you are at the controls of a C-172 followed by a question and answer session with an FAA Certified Flight Instructor who will personally review the course with you. He/she will discuss the feel, training syllabus, books, and time requirements. Your FAA Flight Instructor will answer any questions you have about learning how to fly and help you create a course of action to obtain your desired flight certificate.
